Participation in get-together party
For the participants who declared participation in the get-together party, this social meeting will take place on Thursday, November 19th, 2026 at 7:30 p.m. at Kopalnia Guido [Level 320], 3 Maja 93 Street in Zabrze. The Organizers will provide bus transportation to the restaurant, starting from the conference venue and from the hotel.
Getting to Gliwice
By air
The nearest airports are Kraków Airport (KRK) and Katowice Airport (KTW). Katowice Airport is slightly closer, located approximately 45 km from Gliwice. The journey to the city centre takes around 40–50 minutes by car.
Gliwice can also be reached from the airport by GZM metropolitan buses M116/M16. The service allows passengers to travel between Katowice Airport and Gliwice without changing buses. Taxis are available directly outside the airport terminal.
By train
Gliwice railway station offers frequent regional and long-distance connections with major Polish cities, including Katowice, Krakow, Wroclaw and Warsaw.
The conference venue is approximately 15 minutes on foot from Gliwice railway station and can also be reached by local public transport or taxi.
By car
Gliwice is conveniently located at the junction of the A1 and A4 motorways, providing easy access from Katowice, Krakow, Wroclaw and other major Polish cities.
A limited number of parking spaces will be reserved for GSM participants directly in front of the Congress Centre. Additional parking spaces are available on the campus of the Silesian University of Technology. Please check the university parking map for locations and availability.
Accommodation
A number of hotels are located in Gliwice city centre, within walking distance of the railway station and the conference venue. The following hotels are often selected by GSM participants:
Abstract submission
Registered participants of the conference can submit abstracts for poster presentations. Only one abstract per participant can be submitted. The abstract submission deadline is 12 Oct 2026 at 23:59 (CET). The status of the abstract will be confirmed after its acceptance.
All abstracts must be prepared in English. Please prepare the abstract according to the following criteria:
- Title (max. 25 words)
- Author list (presenting author identified)
- Affiliations (institution, city, country)
- Keywords (max. 5)
- Abstract text (max. 3000 characters, including spaces)

Poster presentation
- Poster Session will be held on Thursday, November 19th, 2026, between 2.00 pm and 4.00 pm.
- Please print out your poster: the maximum poster size is A0 (84 cm wide x 119 cm high).
- Find your poster in the Abstract Book (PDF), identify your session topic and poster number, then find the appropriate stand and place your poster there before the Poster Session.
- The Poster Committee will evaluate your presentation. Please be present next to your poster during your evaluation part.
